As our mission statement, this simple sentence guides our business here at Frontier Co-op. Supporting organic agriculture is a key component of fulfilling that mission. We firmly believe that organic agricultural practices are just better for our environment – including our soil, our water and our food – and better for people, from our farming families to our consumers. More than 80% of the botanicals we source from around the world are grown organically.
As a cooperative dedicated to supporting sustainability in smallholder communities around the world, organic agriculture plays a critical role in our work. In this vein, Frontier Co-op is a proud member of the Organic Trade Association (OTA), which works to grow and protect the organic industry as a whole.
We firmly believe that organic agricultural practices are better for the planet – including our soil, our water, and our food – and better for people, from our farming families to our consumers. Organic agriculture is governed by USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP) and requires that products bearing the organic logo be produced without the use of toxic or persistent pesticides, synthetic nitrogen fertilizers, antibiotics, synthetic hormones, genetic engineering, or other excluded practices.
