Childcare Benefits

Since its founding in 1976, Frontier Co-op has made childcare a central part of its culture by offering subsidized, onsite childcare at our Norway, Iowa headquarters—licensed to care for 112 children daily—and providing additional support like wraparound care with local schools, as well as a reimbursement program for employees who use offsite childcare.

Many employees come to Frontier Co-op because they’re looking for somewhere their work will help make a difference in the world. To support this, Frontier Co-op provides 8 hours of paid time off for employees to volunteer with local non-profit organizations every year.

Tuition Reimbursement

Frontier Co-op offers a no-strings-attached reimbursement program for employees pursuing formal education, covering up to $5,250 annually for Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees, $10,000 for Master’s degrees, as well as professional development opportunities, including technical and soft skills training and certification programs. In the past two years, Frontier’s reimbursement program has supported more than 20 employees in advancing their education and career.

Financial Solutions
All employees have access to free financial planning services, regardless of their stage of life.
529 College Savings Plan Match
Frontier Co‑op matches employee contributions to 529 College Savings Plans up to $1,000 per year for their children and grandchildren.
Cash Advance Program
To cover unanticipated expenses that require money prior to payday, employees can access a portion of their earned wages (no more than
50%) during the current pay period for a fee of $1 per $100 borrowed.
Education Reimbursement
To support continuing education and professional development, employees are eligible for up to $5,250 per calendar year for an associate or bachelor’s degree, and up to $10,000 per year for a master’s degree, up to $30,000 total.
Subsidized Childcare or Childcare Reimbursement
To accommodate the needs of our employees who are parents, Frontier Co‑op operates a licensed onsite childcare center at our headquarters in Norway, Iowa. For employees who choose other DHS-certified providers, we offer childcare reimbursement to subsidize a portion of the cost.

Work-life Integration
Employees receive eight hours of paid time per fiscal year to volunteer with a registered nonprofit organization of their choice. Paid volunteer time can be used any time, including off shifts and weekends.
